Compliance & Regulatory Information

Pet Treat Manufacturing (CoPUPco™)

Illinois Department of Agriculture Licensing

CoPUPco™ LLC is licensed by the Illinois Department of Agriculture (IDOA) as an Animal Feed Manufacturer and Distributor. This license authorizes us to produce, package, label, and distribute pet treats within the state of Illinois.

Product Registration

All CoPUPco™ dog treats are individually registered with the IDOA. Each product undergoes:

  • Ingredient review
  • Guaranteed analysis verification
  • Labeling compliance review
  • Assignment of a product‑specific registration number

We maintain active registration for every treat we sell.

State Distribution Requirements

Because Illinois requires product‑by‑product registration for pet treats, CoPUPco™ dog treats are only available for purchase and shipment within Illinois.

Human Skincare Products (CG Precision Skincare by CoPUPco™)

Cosmetic Regulatory Compliance (MoCRA)

CG Precision Skincare by CoPUPco™ follows all applicable requirements under the Modernization of Cosmetics Regulation Act (MoCRA). Our handcrafted body butters are produced in small batches with a focus on safety, transparency, and high‑quality ingredients.

Small Business Status Under MoCRA

As a small‑batch manufacturer with annual cosmetic sales under $1,000,000, CoPUPco™ qualifies for MoCRA’s small business exemption. This exemption means we are not required to complete FDA facility registration or cosmetic product listing at this time.

Even with this exemption, we maintain all MoCRA‑required safety practices:

  • GMP‑Aligned Production — While exempt from formal Good Manufacturing Practices, we follow clean, controlled small‑batch production methods appropriate for a home‑kitchen environment, including strict sanitation between batches and detailed batch documentation.
  • Safety Substantiation — Each formula has documented safety support, which may include Safety Data Sheets (SDS), technical data sheets, Certificates of Analysis (COAs) when available, and established cosmetic ingredient safety information.
  • Adverse Event Recordkeeping — We maintain an internal system for documenting and evaluating customer feedback. Any serious adverse event will be reported to the FDA within 15 business days, as required by law.

Labeling & Transparency

Our cosmetic labels follow MoCRA’s requirements for clarity and consumer safety. Each product label includes:

  • Full Ingredient Disclosure — Ingredients are listed using standard cosmetic naming (INCI), with familiar common names included where helpful.
  • Net Quantity of Contents — Each jar displays the required weight statement.
  • Business Contact Information — Labels include our Plainfield, IL address and contact information for reporting concerns.
  • Batch Identification — Every product includes a batch code linked to our internal production logs for traceability.
  • Cosmetic‑Appropriate Claims — Products are described using cosmetic terminology (moisturizing, softening, nourishing) and do not make medical or drug claims.

Manufacturing Standards

Small‑Batch Production

All CoPUPco™ products—pet and human—are produced in a clean, controlled home‑kitchen environment using small‑batch methods that support consistency, safety, and freshness.

Sanitation & Cross‑Contamination Controls

Because we produce both pet treats and human skincare, we follow strict separation practices, including:

  • Preparing only one product category at a time
  • Fully sanitizing all surfaces and equipment between batches
  • Using dedicated utensils or tools for specific product types when appropriate
  • Storing pet‑treat ingredients and skincare ingredients separately

These practices ensure that no cross‑contamination occurs, even within a shared home‑kitchen workspace.

Ingredient Quality & Verification

We verify ingredient quality using supplier documentation such as SDS sheets, technical data sheets, and COAs when available. All ingredients are used within recognized safe cosmetic or feed‑grade usage guidelines.

Batch Documentation

Each batch is logged with:

  • Ingredient sources and lot numbers
  • Production date
  • Internal quality checks
  • Notes relevant to safety or consistency

This documentation supports both MoCRA cosmetic requirements and IDOA feed regulations.
